The title Skiagraphia derives from Greek and can be translated as ‘drawing/writing with shadow’.
The creation myth of Pliny is central to this interdisciplinary production. This myth expresses the human urge to hold on to life, with themes such as transition, loss, mourning, letting go, creation and hope. Skiagraphia takes the age-old myth into the future and connects it to the speculative philosophy of transhumanism. This movement is trying to achieve what humanity dreams of: continuing life beyond our expiration date, for example by uploading our brains in digital format.
