The Previous Owner by Dunja Jocic - tour schedule from 28 September - 21 December

In collaboration with Rik van den Bos, resident writer at Noord Nederlands Toneel, Jocic explores the idea of transhumanism. In a near future, the mind of a dying man is uploaded into a young body, spurring a battle between dance and text over who owns the newly created being.

The title Skiagraphia derives from Greek and can be translated as ‘drawing/writing with shadow’.

The creation myth of Pliny is central to this interdisciplinary production. This myth expresses the human urge to hold on to life, with themes such as transition, loss, mourning, letting go, creation and hope. Skiagraphia takes the age-old myth into the future and connects it to the speculative philosophy of transhumanism. This movement is trying to achieve what humanity dreams of: continuing life beyond our expiration date, for example by uploading our brains in digital format.

Ryan Djojokarso's Mom:me
Feb

to Apr 25

Ryan Djojokarso's Mom:me

He translates major themes into playful and moving performances with humor. In his latest production Mom: Me , he investigates the bond between mother and child - a bond that at first sight cannot be broken in our society, but which sometimes goes wrong. That close, vulnerable and sometimes problematic bond goes through different phases, and changes can be difficult.

Djojokarso draws on the relationship with his own mother and took a series of questions to her as the starting point for the performance.

Multiple performances, tickets/link/info found here: https://korzo.nl/nl/agenda/mom-me/

Mom: Me reviews

“An attractive double portrait” - De Volkskrant ★★★★

"It is good to see how Djojokarso reveals the struggle between that first, playful mother and that second, embittered and imprisoned mother with simple actions." - De Theaterkrant

Marina Miguélez-Lucena's WITHIN (Málaga, Spain)

Marina Miguélez-Lucena's WITHIN (Málaga, Spain)

Within will premiere on October 21st 2017, at 18:00h, Echegaray Theather (Málaga) at Espacio de Nuevos Valores.  More information and tickets at http://www.teatroechegaray.com/es/cal/10-2017

In Within, four women with strong personalities expose themselves. They show as they are, revealing what define them as individuals, while integrating in a single being. An intricate assembly of their bodies in movement, with their differences as the driving force. Their emotions, their artistic curiosities and their thoughts interact as part of a single body and, wether in harmony or discord, they create a mutual uplifting bond.

Within was originally created as a 10 minutes performance for the State Ballet of Saarland in June 2016. Now the piece is extended and adapted to create something more specific for the local audience in Málaga, offering a dynamic and artistically rich show that interests the spectator regardless of his knowledge on dance. In other words, to endear the public with this kind of communication and make them feel identified with it.
